I had a fantastic 90 min private lesson with my husband this morning. I agree with all the things he said but thought it might be helpful for other female travelers to hear from me as well. Our instructor was Jason, and he was great. Very knowledgeable and gave clear coaching and directions. He was reassuring when I admitted being nervous at first, and helped me feel more confident. I was very happy with my progress over the course of the lesson. We were at Seixal beach and there was a small area where we could leave our things during the lesson, but don't bring much. There's a shower on the beach to rinse after and a public change area. This was a great way to spend the morning and a lot of activity, I felt tired by the end! ~ Maryann M

We hebben 9 dagen op Madeira verbleven en vandaag voor de derde maal gesurft. Ook deze keer was het een leuke ervaring met de familie. I had an amazing experience learning with Sicilio as my surf instructor. His professionalism is evident from the very first lesson. He makes sure you feel safe and confident in the water. At the same time, his kindness and warmth create such a welcoming atmosphere. He is incredibly attentive to detail, giving personalized tips that truly help you improve quickly. Always radiating a positive vibe and smiling, he makes every session not only educational but also a lot of fun. Cecilio is a total GOAT. His ability to read the ocean and pinpoint your mistakes in seconds is insane. Une super expérience de surf à Madère avec cette école. Nous étions un petit groupe de 6, ce qui a permis au prof de passer du temps avec chacun d'entre nous et de nous accompagner de façon individualisée face aux vagues importantes. We joined a surfing lesson at Surf Center Madeira in Seixal as a family of three, and it was a wonderful experience. Our surf instructor Louis from England was fantastic – very patient, kind with the kids, helpful, and full of sympathy. He communicated clearly and made sure everyone felt comfortable in the water. The kids had a great time and learned a lot, and we felt well taken care of throughout the lesson. Practical tip: it’s best to arrive early, as parking near the beach can be limited. Altogether, it was a great experience and we left super happy and satisfied. Highly recommended! ~ DrrZevorubec

Me and my girlfriend had a great time on the couples surf lesson with Instructor Jason. I've got a little more experience than her and Jason adapted the lesson perfectly to suit both our skill levels. For a sport that can be intimidating, especially for beginners, Jason waxed confidence and experience that made us both at ease and made for a very enjoyable surfing experience. For English speakers communication was not a problem and instructions were clear and jokes funny. I highly recommend booking this on your holiday if the sun is shining and the surf is up ~ Phoenix V

Super fun private couples lesson today with Jason. Undivided attention meant that we progressed quickly and had an awesome time. The surf crew was where they said they would be, when they said they would be there. The instruction experience was great. Some time on shore learning the basics of getting up and, importantly, discussing safety and communication. Jason was extremely great and we had a very fun time. Both of us surfed on our own by the end. 10/10 would recommend this school. Ask for Jason... He's the guy! ~ Patrick M

Amazing surf school in Madeira! This is already not my first time coming here with my groups, and every lesson is always great. Special thanks to Kevin and Jason — they are amazing instructors! Very professional, friendly, positive, and patient. I really think they can teach anyone how to surf. Every time, all people in my groups managed to stand on the board thanks to them. Incredible lesson today with Jason. I was nervous as it was my first time surfing, but he made me feel very comfortable and had safety as his top priority. I was able to stand up and ride the waves thanks to his thorough and clear instruction. Madeira Surf Center has high quality equipment and communicate with you the day before your lesson to ensure the best timing/ location according to the tide. Clases muy top! Cecilio fue el monitor. Se adapta a cada nivel y a cada idioma 😂! Ese día no había grandes olas pero aprendimos muy bien la técnica, cogimos olas y disfrutamos muchísimo. Recomendable! ~ INES R

We had an amazing first time surfing experience together with my wife. Booked a semi private surf lesson - it was a group of 4. Lovely location as well - Seixal is very scenic black sand beach. Fantastic instructor Cecilio - great vibes and he gave us in depth instructions what to do in different scenarios and tested our balance on land so that its solid in the water. Helped us all the way to catch our first waves and guided really well. I loved it. Now I just want to go again 😀 Thank you 🙏 ~ Laurynas G

We had a wonderful beginners lesson from Laura. She gave us detailed instruction before we got in the water and additional tips while we were in the water. She was a really good instructor. Highly recommend! The scenery at this location is breathtaking and the waves are a good size for beginners. The surf school was great with communication and provided photos to us at no extra charge. That was my first experience with surfing. I was little bit nervous at the beginning, but instructor Kevin threw my worries away. We had couple lesson with my girlfriend and he was so patient and positive that he made and taught even a 190 cm tall boy to ride a few waves. It was great and fabulous experience thanks to positive attitude of both sides - us and the instructor Kev. 100% recommend it! ~ Ondřej C

We took surfing lessons for two days in a row – and it was amazing! 🌊 The instructors, Gonçalo and Louis, are absolutely incredible: they explain everything clearly, are very attentive, and create a super friendly atmosphere that makes you want to keep going. We just had a semi private group surfing session with Cecilio and it was absolutely amazing! Even when I surfed a couple of times before he gave me great instructions to improve my surfing skills. My girlfriend have not surfed before however with Cecilio help and tips she catched many waves and stood up confidently. Totally recommend this surf school. ~ Matěj Š
